Acceptance into Arts Mackenzie is based on a completed application and successful completion of the selection process in December.
All application documents will be found on this website when released in October/November. Late applications can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis if spaces remain in the program. Contact the department head of the discipline you are interested in for more information.
Grade 8 and 9 students who live within the York Region District School Board Central Arts Boundaries are invited to apply to our program. Use the school locator to confirm the Secondary Arts school in your area.
Students interested in applying for two disciplines must identify their second discipline in their Edsby application. Edsby will only accept one application per family.
Registration for the Regional Secondary Arts Program will be on Edsby using the registration link.

If you are a YRDSB family but do not have an existing account, learn how to create a parent account.
If you are NOT a YRDSB family please register and set up an Edsby account beginning November 11th.
Registrants who apply to a second discipline will be contacted to pay the additional $20 registration fee
The Registration link opens November 11th and closes December 4th at 9 a.m.
All families who submit an Edsby application before December 4th will be invited to participate in the Artistic Demonstration. Information will be sent to families regarding the Artistic Demonstration on December 6th.
All results regarding the artistic demonstration will be communicated to families by January 31, 2025.
