General Information

The LLC has a few rules and expectations in place to ensure a comfortable environment is provided for students and staff.

  • Students may use the LLC during lunch, spare, and before/after school.
  • Students on spare must sign in.
  • Students are expected to behave in an appropriate manner.
  • The LLC is a shared space, so noise should be kept at a respectable level.
  • No food or drink (except water) is to be consumed in the library.
  • Study carrels at the back of the library are reserved for individual and quiet study only.
  • Please use the tables in the center of the library for collaborative work.
  • Seating is determined by the number of chairs at each table.
  • Furniture is not to be moved around.
  • Please help us keep the library clean and put garbage in the appropriate containers.

  • To borrow library materials, students must show some form of identification (student card, timetable, or TeachAssist account).
  • Students may borrow up to 5 items (3 on any given topic).
  • The loan period is three weeks.
  • Loaned materials may be renewed for a longer period, provided there is no hold on the requested item(s).
  • Students with overdue books may not borrow resources until materials are returned.
  • Lost or damaged books will be charged to the account holder for the full replacement cost.

  • Students can print, scan and copy from their account using the copier machine.
  • At the start of the school year, students are given a credit of $2.00 in their print accounts.
  • Printing costs $0.02 per page (double-sided is $0.04).
  • Students may print black and white copies only; there is no colour printer in the LLC.
  • Students can check their print balance using the QR located by the copier machine.

  • Computers are prioritized for school-related work only.
  • The library offers 30 desktop computers for student use, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • The library also has 20 Chromebooks that students can borrow for the school day.
  • Students are responsible for the safekeeping of each device borrowed.
  • Chromebooks must be returned to the library by 3:15 daily for recharging.
  • Students may not take Chromebook home.

The LLC has a collaboration room that may be reserved by students and staff. Please speak to a staff member at the circulation desk to reserve the space.

The LLC is a great place to engage in relaxing and fun makerspace activities. The library is equipped with Buddha boards, jigsaw puzzles, board games, colouring stations, and much more. The library also hosts a special maker event once a month.
