Visual art is not only an accessible way to express and explore your identity (or just make pretty stuff), it is also a way to demonstrate and develop several skills necessary for the work force:

A Look at Grade 9

  • Drawing (pastels, pencils, charcoal, ink, digital design)
  • Painting (acrylic, oils, watercolour)
  • Sculpture (clay, wires, mixed media, etc.)
  • Art history (various styles and art movements through history)
  • Basic individual art theory (colour theory, drawing terms, contour drawing, etc.)
  • Field trips (AGO, ROM, etc.)
