Departmental Awards
At the end of each academic year, students in grade 9, 10 and 11 are nominated to receive the following Departmental Awards. These awards recognize academic excellence, work habits and outstanding character in each course:
- Highest Mark
- Most Improved
- Character
Teachers consider the following attributes when deciding upon the characterization award:
- Optimism: the student models and optimistic attitude and positive character
- Respect: the student is a respectful, responsible and engaged citizen who is involved in the learning community
- Self-Discipline: the students demonstrate self-discipline and personal growth through a strong sense of personal efficacy
- Life Long Learner: student sees learning as a lifelong process and is a critical thinker
- Role Model: the student inspires others through leadership and compassion
Students receive their awards in October of each year.
