Student life is vibrant here, with a wide variety of different student clubs and teams to choose from. There are lots of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles, get involved, meet new people, explore their interests, try something new and build their skills.

  • High Performance Athlete
  • Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program
  • Personalized Alternative Education (PAE), including an Exploring Opportunities Program (EOP) (transportation focus) and an Alternative Learning Experiential Program (ALEP)
  • Program for Accelerated Literacy and Mathematics (PALM)
  • Four Specialist High Skills Majors, including Arts & Culture, Business, Health & Wellness and Transportation.

Transitioning to Secondary School


We are here to support students in their transition to Grade 9 and throughout their high school years. We take extra care to ensure Grade 9 students feel welcomed, prepared and supported. This includes:

  • Grade 8 transition supports, including scheduled visits to AMHS and opportunities to attend open houses and various program-specific information nights
  • Welcome and orientation activities
  • Academic and well-being supports
  • Grade 9 Camp Day designed to help students meet other students and feel confident starting high school
